Hipshot makes a highly functional machine head that is beautiful. The finish on my Epiphone had leaked into the tuner peg holes during manufacturing, so the Hipshots didn't slip right in. I called Oscar at customer support and he helped me problem solve. I used a small file to remove the excess finish that dripped into the hole, and voila! success:-) I used the guitar at a gig and the Hipshot stands up as a superior product. The machine heads are light weight and keep the guitar balanced perfectly. I couldn't be happier with the product and especially the custormer service. I like when I can get help from a real person on the phone, especially when they solve problems so well.

It works amazing!
It’s updated and looks different than other 2 originals, now they have logos on the back.
Overall I’m happy.

Always love the Hipshot products! Only issue is when ordering chrome, I was hoping the backing of the gear and pinion where going to be chrome but were like a brush finish.. I do have many other sets that chrome all around. Not a big deal but would have liked the option to choose

Excellent product. Near drop in replacement on a Spector NS Dimension 4. Required about 5 minutes total with a half round file to enlarge three of the holes on the front side of the headstock that were just a fraction too small. Everything else went great. The tuning stability and weight saved are definitely worth it.

Amazing drop in replacement.

Best tuning machines around IMHO. There was a backlog of orders so shipping these out took about a month from the order date. I will call to check what’s in stock next time for sure. That being said, I would buy these again but I will order in advance of my next build. Great product!

Beautiful smooth machine heads with a classic modern look proudly boasting the USA engraving what's not to love!

Worked as a drop-in replacement for my Carvin bass. Great quality and smooth tuning adjustment! I highly recommend these tuning keys!

Super easy installation - the new tuners just dropped right into the existing holes on my Gibson Thunderbird. They look great too.

Looks great, fit’s perfectly and the color was right on. Well worth the wait

It a quality product …looks good …and I would purchase again

Customer bought the 3/8” and not the 1/2” for weight reduction on his Marcus Miller Sire. Of course the press in bushing hole was too big so we removed the press in bushing collar and pressed it in flush upside down to act as a spacer. Worked perfect! Flippin Guitars

Bought the mini clovers to replace the heavy stock tuners that caused neck dive, and wow what a difference they’ve made. My bass is comically light now, I find myself wearing it for no reason other than it’s so light and comfortable. The machines are smooth and precise as well!

Exceptional quality tuning machines. Lifetime guarantee says it all. I chose the short Y keys but you can get the regular Y keys (they’re interchangeable) in case you want to swap. I’ll take these over schaller, grover, old USA grover, and all others I’ve tried.

I put these on a 1991 Thunderbird. The original tuners were a little different from more recent Thunderbird tuners, so I had to do a little drilling to get them to work. But, with the mini-clovers, it looks the part completely now. It never had balance problems, but it's even better now. These look vintage and work very well.

A shocking improvement in sound, #hipshotproducts Ultralite HB6 3/8 on my #reverendguitars R5L.
And yes, they fit without modification.

Definitely the best quality and lowest weight tuners I have come across for bass! These are standard on Labyrinth Guitarworks basses.

I upgraded my Gibson Thunderbird bass with Hipshot 3/8 mini clover and these tuning machines are perfect ! My bass stays in tune for days. It also give it a nice vintage look.
Check pictures of Johnny Colt (ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd, ex-Black Crowes) : he's using the same tuning machines on his Thunderbird bass.

There's really no other option in my eyes. These are the best, and should be industry standard.

I really hated the feel of the stock tuners on my Epiphone Thunderbird. They just felt wierd to me. I came to Hipshot through various forums and they were super helpful. I told them what i was after and they pointed me to the correct part. They were a drop in replacement and literally took 10mins to install. Very happy. Thanks guys.

And I allow myself to write a few words.
The fact that I needed a set of tuners combined color, chrome / black. I spoke to many well-known manufacturers, Japanese, German and American. Some advised to buy two sets and assemble one I needed. Some do not pay attention to my request. Only from Hipshot answer came immediately: " We'll do a set for you, for the price of black."
So I do not agree with Mr. Chris Bradshaw. I think customer service in Hipshot, at a high level.
I got tuners in 10 days. Workmanship is great. Indeed UltraLight!
Thank you, Hipshot!
Sven
Really light weight, smooth, stable and lovely. Well worth the purchase!

I recently purchased the HB6Y-3/8 in gold, to replace the stock tuners on my Schecter Stiletto Custom-5 string bass. The stock tuners are absolute garbage, so when two of them broke at once, I decided to upgrade the damn things. These are the best after-market tuning keys one can buy, and now that they are installed, I am quite happy I bought them. Hipshot's customer service left something to be desired, at first, but they eventually returned my emails and helped me with exchanging the tuning key for the right size. Now that I'm all set up, I'm very happy. Hipshot makes the best hardware, bar none!!!

The best Bass Tuners on the market, bar none! I have full sets of HB6C Ultralite Cloverleafs on my Mike Lull Modern 4-string, fretted & fretless Fender Jazz 24s, and a set of HB6Y Y-Keys on my Mike Lull Modern 5-string.
...all of the above also have Hipshot's classic Ultralite Bass Xtenders on their lowest strings: 3 HE6C Cloverleaf Bass Xtenders on the E-strings of the Mike Lull Modern 4 and Fender Jazz 24s, & HE6Y Y-Key Xtender on the Low-B of the Mike Lull Modern 5. I'm also (slowly) swapping out the stock tuners with HB6Y Ultralite Y-Keys & HE6Y Bass Xtenders on my 4 Custom Euro Bolt-On Spector Basses.

My Lakland 55-02 came with the HB6C-1/2" Ultralite tuners and they are precise and stable. That made it easy to decide to use them on my G&L JB-2 Tribute. I removed 7.2 ounces (!) from my JB-2 headstock by using the HB6Y-3/8" Ultralites. That's a good thing.
Rick Kline
Use them on my Peavey Cirrus Maple 6 string bass. The bass now has that "tuned at the factory" stability, even using a gig bag. Love these tuners, and am recommending them to a friend who has a similar bass with a need to replace tuners.
R Low Vaughn
The best bass machines on the planet, I install these on all my custom basses.
Max
these little things are amazing! Just upgraded my bass with these and the balance improved and it doesn't go out of tune after weeks of playing... Amazing!
