The secret sauce of bass pros the world over, the Xtender™ gives you the ability to instantly drop the tuning of your low string and then back again with the flip of a lever. The BT7 is a direct replacement for Fender® Highway One tuning machines first featured on many MIM models. It is now a popular choice for many contemporary Fender® basses including Vintage Modified Squier®, USA, and Custom Shop models. Many smaller, independent builders have adopted this machine as well.

I loved my first Ibanez bass Xtender so much, I got one for my Jazz. Both installed quickly, fit perfectly, the quality is excellent and now in seconds I can flip to drop D and back instead of having to tune between songs. In a world where marketing and reviews are often exaggerated - Hipshot is the real deal.

I got the Xtender with the DoubleShot lever. I use it to tune the low E string down to D and C. After applying a little Big Bends Nut Sauce to the nut, changing tuning is fast and accurate. I've really enjoyed jamming and exploring the new tuning possibilities.
I got the Xtender with the Doublestop pre-installed for my MIM P bass. The instructions looked a little confusing, but once I had the device in hand everything was clear. A perfect fit, installed in 5 minutes and only needed a screwdriver. Getting stable tuning was easy after I applied some Big Bends Nut Sauce.
I installed the BT7 on an inexpensive Bently bass before trying to upgrade my other more expensive basses. Not an an exact fit, I had to drill 1 hole for the mounting screws to line up. Total success! Tuning the Xtender was simple, and I put a set of Billy Sheehan Rotosounds on for the thicker E string. Sounds awesome! Having that low D is a gamechanger. If you've been thinking about this, do it! A total home run, five stars!
Perfect fit for my MIM Fender P bass. I've wanted one of these since the 90's and its exactly what I needed.
My name is Scott Edwards WWW.SCOTTEDWARDSMUSIC.COM. I played with Stevie Wonder from June 1970 to August 1973. In 1972 when Stevie Wonder came out with Superstition, I had to tune my E string to E flat for Superstition which is in E flat. When I found your trigger some time later, no more manual detuning. Today's multi-string basses don't have that problem except the four string p bass still has better tonal properties than five and six string basses. Thanks for saving me back in 1972. Scott Edwards
Can't understand why a d-tuner isn't in Fender's standard confirguration from factory.
Having a Hipshot Xtender is the way to go! Being able to drop tune in a second, makes any Hipshot Xtender a must on every bass.
Where does the silencer go? Great for playing in a band!
