BT2 Clover Key Dimensions

BT2 Lollipop Key Dimensions

Are you often called upon to play low D or B notes but don't want to switch to a 5 string? You're in good company. That's why the BT2 has been a not so secret weapon of elite bass players since 1982. The ability to instantly drop the tuning of your low string and then back again with the flip of a lever is a great way to keep the gigs coming! The BT2 is a direct replacement for the Schaller® BMF tuner that was first found on CBS era Fender® basses manufactured between 1967 and 1982. Since then, the BMF tuner has been featured on countless boutique builds and Custom Shop models.

  • Drop a Major 2nd (E-D) and if your strings have standard thickness cores, you can go as low as a 4th (E-B)
  • DoubleStop feature gives you a tuning position between the high and low for a total of three tunings on one string
  • Precision Laser cut and machined construction with no casting or stamping
  • 27:1 tuning ratio
  • Fits 11/16" (17.5mm) headstock holes
  • Adjustable tension nylon bearing system
  • Stainless steel key prevents tarnishing and rust where you touch the tuner the most
  • Available in clover or lollipop key styles
  • Mounting hardware included
  • Available in black, nickel, and gold finishes

Love the Hipshot tuners. I was a little unsure about drilling holes in my baby but my fears weee unfounded. These tuners are awesome. And the ability to grab that low D so quickly is a dream. Thank you.

I love the Hipshot D-tuner. I have them on a couple of basses. Easy to install, easy to use. Highly recommended.

Customer photo review of BT2 Bass Xtender

I bought a GB7 way back in 1989, that's been on a couple of different basses, I had to get a replacement lever about 15 years ago. But it's still going strong. Earlier this week I bought a BT2 for my Status necked fretless Precision, that also has a Kickass bridge on. Had a bit of trouble installing because there was a small blob of resin inside the hole through the headstock that stopped the tuner moving freely. Once I'd sanded that back and reinstalled the BT2 it all worked flawlessly. Hoping to get 32 years worth of use out of this. Hipshot products really are superb! Many thanks.

What's not to love about the convenience of dropping your tuning with just a flick of a lever?

Quick and painless!!

Always wanted one on my Fen Jazz

It works great. It is super easy to get to Drop D and back.

Nice quality piece

Great

I’ve been using Hipshot products for years never had a problem always a great experience🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶

So easy to install, and effortless to use! Even smoother than I expected: very quick to flip it down and up even for a single note. I also love that all the other strings stay right in tune when the tension changes. And to top it off, its an exact match to the rest of the tuners on my '79 Jazz Bass. Highly recommended!

Perfectly

It work's perfect, tricky to tune and adjust at the beginning but once you get used to it, you do it flawlessly. I installed into a Jaguar Bass MIJ

I installed a full set of HB2’s on my Japanese Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass and I liked them so much that I decided to install the BT2 to go with it. Installation was a breeze. It took only a few minutes and now my Jazz Bass goes from standard tune to drop D in one quick flip. I can actually change tuning during a song, and change back and the bass stays in tune the whole time. Now THAT is cool!!!
