What a godsend this little piece of hardware is! No matter how hard I tried, I could never seem to acquire the necessary tension on my bass guitar strings with the stock Fender string retainer. The difference between the two is like night and day! It's lightweight, yet strong and as tough as nails. Recently purchased a chrome 3-string retainer for a bass that had a closed system that had to be strung through. What a pain to either remove strings by pulling them back through the retainer or remove the whole thing everytime I had to do some work on my bass. No More!
