At first blush, the MassKicker™ might seem like a simple, heartfelt tribute to Leo Quan’s BadAssV®. A closer look, however, reveals significant improvements under the hood that put this bridge in a class of its own. We worked hard to ensure that the MassKicker™ possesses the soul of the beloved original while also being so much more.

After a few different brands of high mass bridges Hipshot was the only one that specified in the ordering process that the squier 5 strings are a different pattern. They were 100% correct. The Hipshot is also easier to adjust for string spacing the the competition. The sustain increased by at least 50%. Love my Hipshot and when I upgrade the tuners I know the 1st place I'm going! HIPSHOT
The Hipshot Kickass 5 is perhaps THE BEST 5-string bridge you can get for the price. Perhaps the only bridge that is “better” is the Hipshot A-style bridge.
I love the Kickass 5 bridge so much, I have it on 4 out of 5 basses (the 5th is a G&L, so it comes with an awesome bridge already - no need to replace it…)
Repainted and upgraded a cheaper Squire including a Hipshot kickass and I love it. Well made, attractive and thoughtful design. No modification needed on this bass. They even included a few shorter springs and screws in for more intonation adjustment.
I use hipshot tuners, string through bridges, kick ass bridges and D-Tuners just about every bass I mod and they’re all great.
This thing is amazing. I replaced a standard bridge on a fender and it made a huge difference. I can feel every note in my body when I play. Turned a somewhat likable bass into a great instrument.
