One came on my Strat plus. When I first saw it on the guitar in the store, as and engineer, I instantly knew what it was designed to do and thought it was brilliant. The salesman offered to take it off and replace it with a traditional spring. I refused and explained the tremsetter. He asked if I knew how to adjust it & I didn’t but I thought the company would have instructions. It was better. They had a step by step video. It is flawless.

An absolute rockstar's tool if you use your whammy & floyd. Highly recommended, I'm seriously going to buy several more when I can, notice I said SEVERAL more. That's not a typo. Get one, you'll be hooked!!!

The first guitar I had with a HSTS was a 1993 Jackson Dinky which had it already installed on it. I purchased the guitar from Steve Blaze of Lillian Axe, after closer inspection I didn't think I was going to like it but after about 3 hours of non stop playing, my ex wife came in & flipped the power of my amp to off & said no more guitar or no more @$$ tonight & she was identical to Lita Ford in every way, when she put on chaps with only black leather panties, there was no telling the difference, my right hand to GOD. So of course I did what she said and was fulfilled in both ways. When I started playing my newly acquired Jackson with this new THING HPTS, on it, I was totally blasted away, I've never used or seen anything like it, major diving and high jumping, pulling back on the trem arm then releasing it numerous times...I was totally totally blown away, I had never in my life found anything like it, perfect tune return, now keep in mind 3 hours of play time with the Jackson I had just picked up from Steve & this guitar was used on tour after tour, used on several records so she had her share of road ware but top me she was and always will be my#1 Baby. I've just got to get her back, long story short she was basically stolen from me & is in Russia somewhere, I've tracked it there serial number 001944 made in Ontario with a very graphic birdseye maple neck and an Eerie Dess Swirl paint job & I will get her back before I pass from the genetic disease I have so I can pass it down to my daughter, I think she loved it as much as I do. Long story huh, but this is my testimony to the HSTS-HIP SHOT TREM SETTER. After hard playing, diving & backing & literally playing until my fingers bled out was total and pure satisfaction, finally someone invented this little product that returned my guitar to perfect every time no matter what I did. I just purchased another one for my other Jackson Dinky and of course Eerie Dess Swirl paint again. But from that day forward I told myself every guitar I ever purchase if it doesn't have a HSTS on it, it will as soon as I can order one so when I get my Jackson out of the shop in a few hours I'm installing my new HSTS. So I highly recommend this product to everyone. Just try one first with one & if your ears are tone set you'll see what I'm talking and praising about. For the price I guarantee you WILL NOT be disappointed. So get it, install it or have it installed and rock your asses off.

It’s a great product! I’ve installed six of these in the past year for certain “Strat” clients who wanted more stability in their whammy bar action without having to use a Floyd Rose system. Even if you don’t attach the whammy bar, the tremsetter’s stabilization still improves the instrument’s overall sustain by replacing the old spring system with a better one.
I highly recommend this product!

It's been so long I forgot I wrote a review some 7 or 8 years ago. I have been installing Hipshot Tremsetters in several local guitar players Stratocasters and they are all so happy and will never look back. They come with the same problem, their guitar just doesn't stay in tune. After a decent setup and a Tremsetter install they are amazed how their guitar stays in tune all the time! Will be ordering more! thank you Hipshot for making a really really good product!

Somewhat miraculous, to be honest. I followed the very helpful video instructions and was able to easily install it on my G&L SC-3. It's like playing a guitar with the solidity of hardtail but with a tremolo. When I do my dives, it returns perfectly to its zero position with complete certainty. Absolutely no locking nut or fine tuners necessary. A brilliantly conceived and executed product. If you have a tremolo, get this. Even if you don't want to use the tremolo, get it because it will make the guitar play like a hardtail. Highest possible recommendation.

I've installed 3 in the past two weeks. All 3 for Floyd Rose Style Trem. All worked out GREAT! the first two were a little tricky only because it's a first time doing it. Once I got the hang of them, they are simple to install and set up. The Video really helped.
thank you HipShot for a great product.

I installed a tremsetter in my FR equipped Tom Anderson pro am years ago (I think when they first came out), makes the trem action a little stiffer/heavier (which you get used to) and it's awesome

In response to Keith's review which is misleading. It sounds as if you do not yet have your tremsetter set-up correctly or you have a different problem with your tremolo.
My Ibanez edge-pro and floyd-rose tremolos both returned to zero perfectly before installation of the tremsetter. After installation I can do full bend double-stops and the tuning of other string stays rock solid. Standard bends and over-bends are also much improved.
I'm a part-time guitar tech and installation on the Ibanez took a bit of creativity because of the spring clamps on the edge-pro tremolo and I also had to remove some wood to add clearance for the rod when raising pitch.
This is a much better solution than blocking and losing ability to raise pitch.

I've been using Tremsetters for years. They're in all my Strats. A must-have if you use a tremolo.
Keith.
Easy to install. Not so easy to set up, but I did manage it and I'm no tech pro. One thing... while it does vastly improve bridge stability and bring the bridge back to zero after even aggressive whammy bar use, it does not (DOES NOT!) prevent de-tuning of other strings while bending notes.
