The Tone-A-Matic by Hipshot re-writes the book on “two post” style bridges. Designed to retrofit a Gibson® Nashville or Epiphone® style tune-o-matic, the Tone-a-matic by Hipshot features the following:
- Machined from aircraft grade aluminum for improved sustain and tone.
- Unique stainless steel saddle design acts as a second class lever to push firmly into the bridge. This eliminates that aggravating saddle rattle and improves vibration transference into the bridge.
- The bridge plate can be adjusted forward and backward on the posts and locked in place with small set screws.
- Over a half inch of intonation range handles even the heaviest strings.
- Stop bar stays in place even with no string pressure thanks to small magnetic inserts.
- All posts are adjustable with a 1/8" hex key. No more galling the tail-stop posts or using pliers on the bridge posts!
- Includes press inserts for fresh installs along with mounting posts that are compatible with Gibson®, Epiphone® and many other brands.

Installed this on a 2006 Jackson SLSMG. The strings rub against the back of the bridge, but it doesn't affect how it plays and I'm a lot happier not having a sharp saddles digging into my hand during palm muting. The extra travel also allows me to intonate the low C without issues on the 25.5in scale. Note it has teflon paint on the surface, so if you use passive electronics, you'll need to sand off a spot on the posts, saddle notches, and inside of the bridge to ensure the ground connects properly.
I installed this bridge on my Schecter Hellraiser Avenger and it is way better! Solid 10 out of 10. I highly recommend it. I will be installing this bridge on my Gibson, Les Paul.
I replaced the TonePros TOM in my Schecter Blackjack SLS with this, and it has been an upgrade in every way. Not only did the sustain and tone improve as advertised, but it even improved string tension and tuning stability. I was expecting a noticeable but subtle difference, and this bridge far exceeded expectations. I can’t recommend it enough!
Great bridge, easy to intonate, and came with everything I needed to install it! -The allan wrenches dont fit real well, but any regular set will do just fine
I bought this for my son and he was thrilled to receive it.
The bridge design pretty much ensures that you can intonate properly, which is a nice advancement for tune-o-matic guitars. The product quality leaves something to be desired though. On one of my saddles, the hex head opposite the saddle screw broke off the first time I went to intonate the string with the new Hipshot bridge.

Probably best tune o matic style bridge out there. Comfortable bridge, more range to adjust intonation is nice, and it was easy to install on my esp ltd guitar. I will probably buy a couple more for 2 of my other guitars.
