I was in the market for a high mass brass bridge/tailpiece combo for my Peaveylembic project, but everything was either cheap Chinese pot metal or TOM. Then I found this. It really changed the look and tone of the bass. The heavy brass also helps isolate the string vibrations from the body a bit more than a traditional bridge, which results in better clarity and sustain. And the stop tailpiece really ties the look together. Idk if it's just me, but I really like the look of a stop tailpiece on a bass (think Alembic or Warwick). Makes for fast easy string changes too. My only complaints are, the spring for the low B intonation adjustment is just a little too long. To get the B dead nuts, the saddle needs to go back just a hair more, but can't due to the spring being fully compressed. Also, the black finish on the upper/bass side mounting post has very quickly worn off from my playing hand in just a few weeks. Honestly I would've expected a more durable finish for the mounting hardware coming from Hipshot. Lastly is just a nitpicky personal thing, but I would've loved to get this in the black/smoked chrome look, but Hipshot has explained why they do not provide that finish. All in all a solid product that I am 98% satisfied with. Might buy a 4 string gold set for my next project!

Installed on my Yamaha BB1024X. This instrument already had excellent sustain and I doubted any improvement was possible but I was wrong. Made a great bass even better. Placement in my case was mm critical to retain the stringthru option and get maximum intonation range. Highly recommended

I Built a Precision style bass with using this bridge in mind.... Phenomenal tone! Adds a new level of brightness VS its twin sporting a Kickass Bridge, and setup as a string-thru, probably the most solid two post bridge I've ever encountered. Bought a chrome tailpiece only and it was the perfect addition to stop my 3 point stock bridge from pulling out its studs. The bass sounds better because of the increased string length it added to my bass.
