HB10 Bass Tuning Machine (Sold Individually)

If your gigs feel like a non-stop battle against slipping tuners while the rest of the band waits, it’s time to rethink your hardware. The HB10 Bass Tuning Machine effortlessly replaces loose, unpredictable stock tuners with gig-ready precision and reliability. You'll be ready to play while the roadies are still untangling cables.

Part of the Hipshot American Classics Series, the HB10 is the premium drop-in upgrade for Japanese-crafted Fender® basses. Engineered as a direct replacement for the Gotoh® GB1 tuner, this footprint is found on countless Made in Japan (MIJ/CIJ) Jazz and Precision basses. Beyond breathing new life into J and P-Basses, the HB10 is also the go-to choice for custom builders wanting rock-solid performance.

Where Style Meets Precision

We’ve taken the iconic open-gear style and supercharged it with an ultra-fine 27:1 gear ratio. This gives you the micro-adjustment you need for dead-on tuning accuracy. From working out a riff at home to opening the show, the HB10 lets you forget about your hardware and connect seamlessly with the song.

  • Drop-in replacement: Direct replacement design for a seamless upgrade without unnecessary modification.
  • Crafted to Last: Precision laser cut and machined stainless steel construction with no cheap casting or stamping.
  • Precision Performance 27:1 gear ratio for incredibly fine tuning adjustments and superior stability.
  • Customizable Feel: Adjustable tension nylon bearing system allows you to dial in the perfect feel while tuning up or down.
  • Quality Materials: The stainless steel key prevents tarnishing and rust where you touch the tuner the most, keeping your hardware looking and performing at its peak.
  • Universal Compatibility Reversible shaft design allows you to easily convert a tuning machine to treble or bass side headstocks.
  • Premium Finishes: Available in black, nickel, and gold to match your instrument's hardware.
  • Key Style Options: Available in classic clover leaf or lollipop key style.
  • Sold Individually: To easily accommodate 5-string (or more) players, each tuner is sold individually.
  • Mounting hardware included.
  • Clover vs Lollipop

While mostly known for the clover key shape, for a brief period in the mid to late 1960s Fender used the lollipop key shape, perhaps to sweeten the tone.

    Will It Fit My Bass?

Designed to replace the original Schaller BMF footprint, if your bass has 11/16" peghead holes and the same mounting pattern, the HB2 will fit. Still not sure? Check out our full scale comparison chart above with your bass to ensure a seamless fit.
