I have been buying hip shots for a long time. Now, mainly through oscar, you never had an issue with any of them, except one. My fender precision ventura 2. I believe the issue is because the tuning pegs tune backwards, then the ones that are out nowadays. But for the other twenty guitars, I have, I pretty much have it on everyone, but my kramer apparently, you guys don't make for that one anymore.
Installed on my N S Designs CR4 electric upright bass. Tuned with the bottom end of a five string set, B E A D. The double stop enables detuning to low A. Requires both stops for the whole step drop with the double bass scale. Use the tail piece version for my 1943 Kay upright.
This HipShot Drop D slipped into my Spector Euro 4LXDW like a glove! Installation was, maybe, 5 minutes at most. Works perfectly. I have a duplicate Spector Euro 4LXDW (yeah... two of 'em) that I've had the Drop D on for years. Now I have two absolutely identical basses. The action on the new one is smooth and accurate. Couldn't be happier with it! Thanks, guys!
I’ve used these drop d tuners since the late 80’s. Every 4 string I own will get one. No matter what type of bass it is, you have a match! Thanks! Oh. I hope you also noticed the Hipshot bridge installed as well.

I Have hipshots on all my basses and past ones also. The double stop takes a little while to get used to. I mean tuning both stops. It comes with instructions but a video would be greatly appreciated. otherwise great like the standard one.

This thing is awesome! I bought a new bass with Gotoh tuners, so adding this was a simple no brainer. A quick switch of the key, a simple 10 minute install, and now I'm drop D and back with the flip of the lever. It couldn't be simpler and I couldn't be happier. I am considering adding one to all of my basses.
I'm giving the product five stars HOWEVER, I ordered it for my Ibanez SR505pb and sadly it doesn't fit due to the small headstock on the bass. SO disappointed. I have one on MY ESP LTD and it is a feature that I feel like every bass should come with. Super great device, wish you had one that fit my Ibanez though, just bought the bass brand new and feel like I would have made a different choice if I'd known it doesn't fit. Please design one that will fit someday. I'll pay you in beer and gum.
